The organizing committee of the conference invites members of the Canadian and International communities to contribute recent research developments and advancements of geotechnical engineering, cold regions engineering, geo-environmental engineering and hydrogeology. The conference will cover a wide range of topics, including special sessions that are of local and national relevance to the fields of geo-engineering. In addition to the technical program and plenary sessions, the conference will include a complement of local tours, workshops and short courses.

Eligible students must be enrolled in a PhD programme in the field of: Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related field

The main idea of the exhibition is to show the negative effects of geological processes (engineering, social, environmental) through the pictures. The exhibition will demonstrate relevance and significance of engineering geology for territory protection under natural and anthropogenic hazards and focus attention of young generation on these issues. It is extremely important for the photographs taken to be as informative as possible so that they may be used it in reports, presentations, articles, books and for educational purposes.

Permafrost and frozen ground are challenging conditions for engineers that have recently gained in importance due to the advancement of the mining industry into the High Andes.
