PYRN-Wiley contest: Win a FREE 945$ value subscription!

By Hugues Lantuit - Posted on 07 January 2009

Dear PYRN members, we are pleased to announce the first PYRN-Wiley contest with a fantastic prize valued at $945: A FREE one-year print and online subscription to Permafrost and Periglacial Processes, the leading journal in permafrost research.

The winner of the contest will be the PYRN member with the highest number of "points" at the end of June 2009. To win points, you simply have to contribute to the website by posting blogs, comments, images, jobs or bibliographic entries. Each entry is rewarded with points that add up on your profile. The live rankings can be viewed directly on the PYRN homepage (http://pyrn.ways.org) or on the following page: http://pyrn.ways.org/userpoints

You now have six months to compete and contribute to the contents of the PYRN website! Start here: http://pyrn.ways.org/node/add. The rankings have been reset so that everyone gets a chance.

DO NOT FORGET TO LOG IN to the website before posting. It is the only way for us to count points appropriately! If you can’t remember your password simply go to: http://pyrn.ways.org/user/password

We let you figure out by yourself the amount of points you can gain by submitting an entry. Entries will be moderated by the site administrators and will be removed (together with the points) if not deemed either original or substantial enough. The members of the PYRN core group are excluded from the contest. The contest will end on June 30th at midnight GMT. We will send regular updates to the membership.

We are grateful to Wiley, the publisher of Permafrost and Periglacial Processes to offer us this opportunity. Permafrost and Periglacial Processes is an international journal dedicated to the rapid publication of scientific and technical papers concerned with earth surface cryogenic processes, landforms and sediments present in a variety of (Sub) Arctic, Antarctic and High Mountain environments. Its contents are available online at: http://www.interscience.wiley.com/journal/ppp

Good luck!
