PYRN is an official project of the International Permafrost Association (IPA) and is part of the legacy of the IPA for the International Polar Year. The International Permafrost association has officially endorsed the PYRN project in 2005

PYRN is an IPY-endorsed activity (#1111) endorsed under the the IPA-proposed full proposal "Thermal State of Permafrost (TSP). PYRN has been officially endorsed by the IPY in January 2006.

Association of Polar Early Career Scientists

PYRN acts as the official representation for permafrost researchers within the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS). APECS is the umbrella organization for young and early career researcher activities in the polar and cryospheric realms.

 

 

World Academy of Young Scientists

PYRN is strongly involved with the World Academy of Young Scientists (WAYS), the umbrella organization for young researcher activities at global level. The ties between PYRN and WAYS are two-fold: 1. PYRN acts as the official representing organization for young researchers to WAYS 2. PYRN is intrisically connected to WAYS through the web partnership that led to the construction of this website

 

 

Other organizations

PYRN has close ties with the International Arctic Sciences Committee (IASC) and the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR). It has also partnered several times with CliC (Climate and Cryosphere) to conduct science and outreach activities geared towards young researchers.
