Angélique Prick, who has been the IPY secretary for now over two years
has now taken more responsibilities within the CliC project and is
replaced at the IPA secretariat by Dr. Herman Farbrot, a Norwegian PYRN
member. You can reach the IPA secretariat at IPA@unis.no. Following this change at the secretariat is a major overhaul of the IPA website (soon on www.ipa-permafrost.org)
- Geogjobs
For the geographers among us, a brand new Geography Jobs website which
allows users to search and post announcements of jobs and events
related to geography was launched recently. The new site, http://www.geogjobs.com/
is free to search and free to post announcements on. It includes jobs
in academia, industry, government, K-12, post-docs, internships and
more. You can even subscribe to job types that you select, and the
site will email you when a new position is posted.
- Travel funding for young scientists to the 38th Annual International Arctic Workshop
The
38th Annual International Arctic Workshop will be held 5-7 March 2008
at the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR), University of
Colorado at Boulder. The meeting is open to all interested in the
Arctic, and will consist of a series of talks and poster sessions
covering all aspects of high-latitude environments, past and present.
