1. NICOP! Register now!
The deadline for registration to NICOP is approaching. You now have until the end of August to prepare an abstract for the Ninth International Conference on Permafrost. Remember that this conference is happening once every five years only. It’s a unique opportunity to meet your peers in permafrost research. You can get a good look at the themes of the conference right here: http://www.nicop.org/abstracts.html.
Microbiologists, geomorphologists, geologists, engineers, hydrologists and others are expected to attend massively. Check out the themes of the conference and ask the US national representatives of PYRN if you need more info.
We plan on a series of outstanding events for young scientists for the conference and hope that we will soon be able to report on travel funding for young researchers.
Go ahead! Sign up! http://www.nicop.org

2. Events
Several events providing travel funding were recently added to the PYRN database: Check the cryosphere meeting happening in Kathmandu in October, as well as the meeting “Global Environmental Change in the Arctic taking place in Sweden this month. Check it right here: http://www.pyrn.org
