The NICOP Educational Stipend Applications are now available HERE!

Application Due Date: February 15, 2008

Decisions announced by: April 1, 2008

Based on availability of funds, the NICOP organizing committee, with financial support from the IPA and other sponsors, is making available a Young Person Financial Support Program. Both students and young persons who are within 5 years of their latest degree graduation date are eligible -- this means, essentially, us -- PYRN members! (You do not have to be a PYRN member yet, but you must join before applying for support.) The only other stipulation is that you must make a presentation (oral or poster) at NICOP, so if you did not submit a paper, you can still attend and receive support if you submit an extended abstract by March 15. While it is obviously best if you actually submit your extended abstract by Feb. 15, this is not required. However, if you submit a stipend application on Feb. 15 but no abstract by Mar. 15, the stipend will automatically be rejected.

The financial support will cover:

(1) Conference registration (but no hard-copy proceedings, only the CD-version),

(2) Meals (on campus through University of Alaska Fairbanks Meal tickets), and

(3) Lodging (shared UAF dormitory rooms).

Unfortunately, airfare to Alaska, extended field trip expenses, or the banquet cannot be covered. No actual funds will be transferred to you because all expenses will be paid directly by NICOP. This young person financial support program is administered by PYRN, IPA, and USPA, and you will be notified regarding your application by April 1, 2008.
