Melnikov Centenary International Forum for Young Scientists - International Geocryological Field Course
The field workshop will be
held in 11-28 August 2008. Participants will travel from Yakutsk
to Lake Baikal
(Irkutsk) to view frost-related features in the
Aldan upland, the Chulman and Chara basins, the Stanovoy, Udokan and Kodar
ranges, and the Lake
Baikal area. Activities
will include field observation of unique cryogenic processes, discussion of
future joint research programs, establishment of international geocryological
research sites, etc.
Registration Fees
The field workshop fee is US$750 (includes transportation and
meals). Pre-payment (at least 40% of the fee) should be done by May 1, 2008 via
bank transfer to the Permafrost Institute’s account.
