POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for geotechnical investigation, design and construction
management/supervision of heavy civil engineering and resources based
projects, such as dams, pipelines, building foundations, roads, airstrips
and landfills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collect and analyze geotechnical and permafrost data.
• Design and develop specifications for civil earthworks structures
and civil cost estimates.
• Mentor junior staff.
• Communicate with clients and subconsultants.
• Undertake field construction management/supervision in remote
northern areas for up to three to four weeks at a time.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology.
• Experience in Canadian-related QA/QC testing, design work, and
construction supervision.
• A Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering is highly desired.
• Eligible for registration as a professional with APEGGA within one
year of joining EBA.
• Have minimum of five years practical experience in the consulting
engineering sector or resource based industries such as mining or oil
and gas.
• Fluent in verbal and written English communication.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Possess a valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence (or equivalent)..

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Working knowledge of Civil Engineering design standards.
• Working knowledge of the Canadian Foundation Engineering
Manual and the Canadian Dam Safety Guidelines.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Proven experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GeoStudio 2007
Products, MS Project, and MS Office.
• Appreciation and understanding of the challenges associated with
designing three-dimensional structures.
