Main field of activities:
The Technical Institute (branch) of the North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov is a leading centre of education, culture and innovations in the southern part of the Sakha Republic and among the top higher educational institutions in the Far East region of Russia. Nowadays the South of the Sakha Republic is considered to be a strategic area of Russia due to the fact that this territory is a base of global industrial mega-projects of mineral resources excavating and extensive building.
For almost 20 years history the Technical institute has made enormous contribution to the development of socio-economic, industrial and cultural spheres of the region. We graduate specialists of such professions as civil engineers, systems engineers, mining engineers, teachers. The high level of the education which is obtained at our institute is conditioned by a highly qualified teaching staffwho participated in the East-Siberian – Pacific Oil pipeline project and close interrelations and interdependence of the institute students-specialists and industrial companies of the region which include the biggest coal mining enterprises of Europe.
Previous international experience
Technical Institute has great experience of joint international educational and research projects with such partners as the University of the Arctic (all the countries of the Circumpolar North including Finland, Norway, Iceland, Greenland, Canada, the USA, Switzerland; uarctic.org), the Heihe Pedagogical Institute (China), universities-members of the DAAD exchange and mobility programmes (Germany), Oxford-Russia Fund (joint seminars and research of contemporary British literature). Thus, our international activities demonstrate wide geographical boundaries of our partnership contacts and underline our tremendous desire to enlarge the scopes of the Institute scientific and educational development with partners from various parts of the world. We believe that such kind of global cooperation will help to speed the process of higher education international standards implementation not only in the Eastern region of Russia but also in many other world areas.
Job description
PhD/ Post Doc position in Regional and World Economy with placement at the Department of Economic and Humanitarian Sciences. The main activities of the chosen applicant include delivering of lectures in the sphere of the mentioned above fields and carrying out scientific research projects in cooperation with the teaching staff of the Institute.
