Salary: $68,211 to $78,805 per annum

- The Property Management Division (PMD) of Highways and Public Works is a team-oriented environment that works closely in sharing workloads, information, and ideas. The Civil Engineer is responsible for providing professional civil engineering assessment services for PMD. This position is responsible for researching and compiling data to complete risk and vulnerability assessments related to climate change and related permafrost degradation effects on Yukon Government facilities and infrastructure projects. The position will initiate the development and then maintain, standards related to the impact of climate change on government infrastructure. The position provides consulting services as a technical expert on behalf of PMD, Part 4 design of new facilities and renovations, structural investigation of existing facilities and provides design-related expertise to the capital budgeting and prioritization activities of the Division.

- We are looking for an individual who is interested in working in a challenging, fast paced environment where timelines are critical. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal, cross cultural and project management skills and be able to work well under pressure. The ideal candidate must have ability to carry out individual workload and tasks while also being a member of a collaborative interdisciplinary team. Knowledge of construction techniques in a northern environment would be an advantage.
