PYRN Mentors' Panel at NICOP

The Permafrost Young Researchers' Network (PYRN) is planning a Mentors' Panel at the Ninth International Conference on Permafrost (NICOP) with the theme "Careers in Permafrost: Research and Trajectories from IGY to IPY (1957-2007)," on Tuesday 1st of July, 4:30 to 5:30PM in the Salisbury Theater. Following this Mentors' Panel will be the PYRN Social.

PYRN Social at NICOP

As the Ninth International Conference on Permafrost (NICOP) will be the first ICOP during PYRN's short but already very successful tenure, we have a number of exciting events planned. NICOP will take place from June 29-July 3 in Fairbanks, Alaska, and a majority of our PYRN events will happen on Tuesday, July 1.

journal tip

I wonder whether somebody doesn't know the russian (speaking) journal Kriosfera Zemli (Earth Cryosphere), which publishes four printed issues per year. The articles in there are mostly relevant to permafrost science or glaciology in Russia. Recently published issues in most cases are freely available as pdf.  Articles have at least an abstract in English, so one could contact the author if the content is relevant to your field. Check the journal under: http://www.izdatgeo.ru/index.php?action=journal&id=2
