AINA scholarships
The Arctic Institute of North America (AINA) grew during World War
II by a group of scientists and engineers in both Canada and the US as a
response to difficulties experienced in Arctic operations. It was
formally established in 1945 in both countries as a membership
organization dedicated to advancement of knowledge of the Arctic. It
launched the quarterly journal ARCTIC in 1947.
AINA has a Grant-in-Aid Program sponsored by members that may be of

PYRN-APECS Career Development Workshop @ AGU
The Permafrost Young Researchers Network (PYRN) and the Association
of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) propose to hold a one-day
career development workshop on Sunday 12 December 2010, prior to the
2010 Fall American Geophysical Union (AGU) meeting in San Francisco, CA,
USA.
This workshop will provide a great opportunity for young
researchers working in the polar regions and the cryosphere to meet new
colleagues and mentors, and develop skills not often taught during
graduate education programs.
Topics of focus include, but are not limited to:

USPA – PYRN Travel Grants to the AGU Fall Meeting 2010
The U.S. Permafrost Association are providing three $500 travel grants
for Permafrost Young Researchers Network members in U.S., students and
post-graduate researchers (within 6 years of their terminal degree),
presenting permafrost-related research at the American Geophysical
Union Fall Meeting 2010. Undergraduates are encouraged to apply.
The applicant must be the first and the presenting author. The
