2008 PYRN Awards at NICOP

The Permafrost Young Researchers Network (PYRN) will be hosting the third annual IPA-PYRN awards for students and young researchers. These PYRN awards are granted annually at the premier permafrost conference, and the 2008 awards are therefore at the Ninth International Conference On Permafrost at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, June 29-July 3, 2008.

The 2008 awards will be funded by a number of sponsors, including the International Permafrost Association (IPA) and the U.S. Permafrost Association (USPA). All young researchers (students and post-graduates) attending and presenting at the conference are eligible to compete for the awards, although we do require joining PYRN for free.

Criteria for the awards include both the quality and the scientific merit of the oral or poster presentation. If you are interested in competing for one of the awards, please please fill out this form and send it to Daniel Fortier ffdf@uaf.edu no later than June 13, 2008.

To help identify your presentation to the panel of judges, we ask you to add the below image to the top-right corner of your poster, or the title slide of your oral presentation. The image is available as either a jpeg (white background) or gif (transparent background) here.
